We are actively looking for agricultural land-banking and co-ownership of land for food production. We work with large farmers and farming cooperatives to collaborate in developing new varieties and sustainable production methods. Currently working with the National Pineapple Association of a South-East Asian country (ASEAN) to introduce MD2 organic pineapple to the grower community. Our company will undertake the complete cycle of importation of the suckers, to the implementation of the cultivation/growing process, to harvest/post-harvest and marketing/sale of finished product. Under certain circumstances, we may provide capital or equity to co-own the growing facilities. Similarly exploring the development of a 3600-sows complete integrated pig farming project in a neighboring country. Our investment and operational modus operandi is to generate minimum possible disruption to the societal life of recipient and host country, but yet delivering maximum economic and livelihood advancement to the same community.
As food security is one of key national issues that has been thrusted into the limelight, even as it is accentuated by the devastating effects of global warming crisis and general environmental degradation. With the worldwide food supply chain disruption caused by the recent COVID-19 pandemic, the urgency for a safe, consistent and reliable source of food, especially essential staple food like grains, edible oil , meat, eggs, vegetables and fruits is even more imperative. It is no wonder the Singapore Government has promulgated the “30-by-30” policy to enhance our country’s food resilience. We are taking the cue to accelerate our triangulated cooperation with farmers and demand centers in the region, starting from the watermelons, bananas to rice and other fresh vegetables and crops.
We also trade in a wide range of food and agricultural products, including can/dried/fresh organic pineapple, rice/fortified rice, organic spices (ginger, turmeric, chili powder, etc.), fresh fruits (mangoes, avocados, watermelons, etc.), nuts (cashews, etc.) and fresh/live seafood (crabs, etc.). We are constantly in the process of developing down-stream activities to act value to these raw and un-processed products.
As part of our long-term view and response to the looming global food crises and its effect, we are exploring alternative and sustainable food sources that will be an increasing contributor to the diet of the future. Starting from algae to seaweeds to grasshoppers, we are working with leading new ventures in this field to license and develop commercial farms in this region. At the same, developing in-house novel plant-based protein sources that are environmentally, ethically and commercially sound.
